Message from the President

Spring – A time of renewal; A time of birth; A time for spring cleaning; A time of planting and of new growth. Spring is the time to come out of hibernation into the awakening world.

As I think about the springtime and then the transformation of growing plants in the summer, I can’t help but think about how this compares to us on our spiritual paths.

After a long period of time of slumber, or lack of spiritual awareness, we all seem to get a yearning at some point in our lives for something more. It hits almost like spring fever. We begin to discover that there is something more, some thing opening up for us, and we begin to get excited. We move from our hibernation into our own awakening.

The connection with Spirit seems new and alive. We read and study and experience. First, we look outside ourselves, because that is what we know how to do. But these outside experiences bring us new seeds. We begin to plant these new seeds of knowledge and experience, and they be gin to grow. These seeds are planted inside our mind, our consciousness, though, and we begin to see the growth and change that is occurring within us.

We also begin to realize that we have to tend to this new inner growth. Just as the gardener becomes more in tune or in oneness with his garden as he continues to work with it and the hiker becomes more in tune or in oneness with nature as she continues on her journey, so do we become more in tune or in oneness with our True Self, the Divine, as we turn our attention inward on the growing sense of Spirit within us. Then when the time is right, we transform.

So as you move through spring and notice the new growth all around you, take a moment to look for the new growth within you. Take the time to plant the seeds. Learn some thing new. Experience something new. Take a class. Read a book. Join a group. Clear out the cluttering fears and doubts. Tend to your inner garden. Meditate. Become in tune and in oneness with the Divine You, and everyone and everything around you. Transform yourself.

Enjoy your spring! Love and Blessings, Tryna Cooper, President, S.A.E. Center
